The work carried out since 1987
Two major types of work have been carried out on the abbey estate:
- The work which was contracted out on behalf of the Regional Department of Cultural Affairs
- The work which was contracted out on behalf of the Roman Abbey Tourist Association
Both of these projects have been contracted out to the Architect in Chief for Historic Monuments as the whole of the site is listed as a Historic Monument.

Chapel after restoration
This category of works is funded half by the State and half by the owner, the Department of Seine-Maritime. The following work has been carried out in this way:
- The restoration of the chapter house (late 12th century) and reconstruction of a part of the cloister.
- The restoration of the monastery building erected by the Benedictine monks of the congregation of Saint Maur (late 17th century), who had converted it into a farm. The ground floor becomes a reception lobby and the first floor an exhibition hall.
- The restoration of the chamberlains’ chapel (13th century)
- The partial restoration of the gardens to look exactly as they did in the 17th century: central monumental staircase, pool.
- The reconstruction of the wind pavilion.
- The excavations in the abbey.
